Spinal Compression Syndromes
In this post, we will discuss two distinct and commonly tested spinal compression syndromes: Cauda Equina syndrome and Conus Medullaris syndrome. Both Cauda Equina and Conus Medullaris are surgical emergencies that require emergent MRI evaluation and prompt neurosurgical consultation to prevent permanent neurologic deficits. Below, we will discuss their presentation, symptomatology, and differentiating factors.
